Meet Berlin with a local
Berlin doesn’t try to impress you. It’s too busy being itself — loud, creative, historically heavy, and permanently in flux. Every neighbourhood has its own character, its own history, and its own cast of characters.
From the murals of Kreuzberg to the Cold War checkpoints, from Tempelhof’s open skies to Berghain’s closed doors — Berlin rewards the curious. Our Trovi hosts are the people who’ll open those doors for you.
Local tips
Döner kebab was reinvented in Berlin — find the best at Mustafa's in Kreuzberg (long queue, worth it).
Berlin's public transport is excellent but complex. Get the BVG app to navigate U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and trams.
Berlin club culture is serious. Clubs open Friday and close Monday. Research door policies before you go.
Topography of Terror, Holocaust Memorial, and Stasi Museum are free or very cheap. Essential Cold War history.
Always validate your ticket before boarding — undercover inspectors are common and fines are steep.
